SCOTT: I say we wait for David. As fun as white water rafting is, I'd also really like to put my new camera through its paces. David, we can pick you up at the airport if you send me your flight info. So... does Garden of the Gods work for everyone? Or does someone besides Jamie want to make a last-minute push for Mount Evans? Thoughts?
JAMIE: I'm ok with waiting and Garden of the Gods is cool with me. Plus, the later we are the cooler it will be and Scott and Nick know how well I do in the heat! Looking forward to it!
Nick: I'm in! I may try to go white water rafting on Friday now :)
JON: Garden of the Gods was my first choice anyway; especially the Segway tour! Are y'all interested in that? (see my link below). Also, does it make any sense for us all to pick Dave up from the airport and go from there?
SCOTT: Yes, I think it does make sense for us to pick up Dave at the airport. Will give us more time at the Garden of the Gods. But he needs to send me his flight info... =)
DAVID: Sorry for the late response. I've been off the grid with the family. I fly in to Denver at 1:00 and will be lucky to make it downtown by 2:00 on Sunday so unfortunately I may not be able to join you for an excursion. I don't want to hold you back so please feel free to make arrangements. I've rafted that area before and it was great. Garden of the Gods is awesome as well, Jen and I camped and mountain-biked there back before kids.
I'll text you when I land. David Cell: 352-275-4387
SCOTT: If we want something more active, I vote for rafting. If we want to just hike around / take pictures (which is what I had in mind in the first place), I vote for Garden of the Gods (or maybe Mount Evans).
Where should we go / what should we do Sunday afternoon? Put your ideas here (with URLs)!
SCOTT: I like the idea of white water rafting. I've done it before. We'd have to be there by 2pm; this is doable. See below and also here. So far there is availability for us. We'd need to move QUICKLY on this? We then can get dinner in the tourist town of Idaho Spring or come back to Denver for some good eats!
Jamie: This is my first choice as well.
Nick: I'd also love to go white water rafting! First choice for me. I've never toured Denver so the other options would all be fine with me. I'm just not crazy about driving too far.
JON: My first choice would be a Segway tour in Garden of the Gods, but close behind is whitewater rafting.
